Day 78 - Whole Lotta Ellen

This was shot through a set of glass beads that are meant for flower arranging. I placed the jar of beads on a plexiglass sheet suspended between two stools. I then placed a print I have up on the wall of the studio of Ellen on the floor below.

Day 76 - Shot from Above

A shot glass, shot from directly overhead with just the ambient light. Shot wide open at f1.4.

Day 69 - Dark Field

Experimenting with dark field lighting, where you don't directly light the glass item, but let the light wrap around a dark background and just kiss the edges. This defines the edges of a glass item by putting bright reflections just around the edges.

Day 11 - Charmed

We have these little wine glass charms that sit on our wine glasses to help people know which glass is which. Shot with my iPhone and processed with Instagram.

Week 4 - A Bottle of Red

A bottle and glass of red wine on blue satin. This is lit with 2 lights, one a softbox camera left and a strip box camera right.

Day 48 - Blue Vase

Shot with a mix of bright field lighting and spot lighting. This hand blown glass vase was set on a piece of clear plexi, on top of white seamless paper.

Day 35 - Tequila

My basement bar needs some stuff on the walls. I shot this with that specific purpose in mind. Another bright field lighting experiment, but I added a gridded spot to light the limes and bottle this time, while keeping the edge definition of the glass.

Day 26 - Dark Field

Playing with dark field lighting. For this technique, you place a large light source behind the item you're shooting and place something between your subject and the light such that the only light that hits the item is from either side. This was list with reflectors on either side of the glasses so that the light behind the black seemless was able to wrap around a bit more.

Day 23 - Red, White and Shot

Playing with bright field lighting and glass. Placed red and white wine glasses and a shot glass on a plexiglass sheet, on white seemelss. Lit the paper with one bare light and placed black cards on either side of the glasses for definition.
